Central Desert team Seeks PBC Coordinator
Central Desert is seeking a PBC Coordinator to join our Client Services Team.
The role will work closely with client PBCs to provide secretarial, compliance and administrative support.
The full time role is contracted up til April 2026 and will be based in our East Perth Office with regular travel to remote desert locations in WA.
About Central Desert and Our work with PBCs
Central Desert Native Title Services Ltd (Central Desert) works in partnership with the Aboriginal people of the central desert region of Western Australia as they shape a self-determined future of independence, control and connection to Country, Culture and Community.
Central Desert provides a range of services focused on supporting corporations known as a ‘Prescribed Body Corporate’ (PBC). A PBC is the corporate entity established to represent a native title holding group, in all matters relating to native title. The PBC is the first point of contact for government and other parties (for example, mining companies) who wish to talk with the native title holders or undertake activities on native title land.
The Role
To be considered for this position, you will have:
1. Experience working directly with Aboriginal people, particularly in remote communities, and with a high level of cultural competence.
2. Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and continuous improvement.
3. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Sound understanding of Corporate Governance principles.
5. Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clear information to clients and stakeholders.
6. Experience in dealing with sensitive and challenging matters
7. The ability to work effectively and communicate with numerous small teams.
8. High degree of resilience and self-motivation.
9. Strong time management skills with an ability to work on multiple projects/meetings simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. Competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications (including Teams).
11. Ability to travel to regional and remote areas for meetings and projects on a regular basis, with the possibility of occasional travel for periods exceeding 7 days.
12. Current and unrestricted manual driver’s licence, competent driving manual vehicles.
